Nepal Wins 4 Golds in Wushu at First SASSF School Combat Games



Nepal has achieved an impressive performance by winning 4 gold medals in Wushu at the first SASSF School Combat Games held in Dhaka, Bangladesh. In addition to the golds, the Nepali team also secured 5 silver and 1 bronze medals, as reported by coach Rajiv Maharjan.

Mamta Sunuwar Rai made a remarkable contribution by winning two gold medals in the women’s Nan Quan and Nan Dao events. In the men’s category, Biraj Sunar won gold in the under-48 kg weight class, and Nischal Tamang secured another gold in the under-56 kg category.



In the silver medal tally, Saugat Chand (men’s under-65 kg), Anita Tamang (women’s under-48 kg), Manjari Rai (women’s under-56 kg), Prarthana Nepal (women’s Taiji Quan), and Subhangirajyalakshmi Gautam (women’s under-52 kg) claimed their respective honors. Rufus KC earned a bronze in female’s Taiji Quan.

Additionally, the Nepali Taekwondo team won 2 gold, 4 silver, and 8 bronze medals in the same competition. Rishika Budhathoki (women’s under-68 kg) and the women’s pair of Rishika and Yunisha Niraula in Poomsae secured gold medals.

In the silver medal category, Aditya Parajuli (men’s under-45 kg), Pankaj Bik (men’s under-68 kg), Ichha Bista (women’s under-42 kg), and Rishika (women’s individual Poomsae) added to the total. Bronze medals were won by Dipan Sapkota, Yunisha Niraula, Sandhya Kumari Paswan, Subham Pokhrel, and others across various weight categories and Poomsae events.
