Nepali Fighters Shine at AVF Asian MMA Championship 2024
Nepal has once again proven its prowess in mixed martial arts on the international stage. At the recently concluded AVF Asian MMA Championship held in Bali, Indonesia, Nepali athletes Vinod Shrestha and Umesh Maharjan clinched medals, bringing pride to their nation.
Vinod Shrestha secured a silver medal in the men’s 70 kg category, while Umesh Maharjan claimed a bronze medal in the men’s 65 kg category. The duo’s impressive performances were a testament to their rigorous training and dedication.
According to coach Rajiv Maharjan, a total of 335 athletes from 22 countries participated in this prestigious tournament. The Nepali team’s success at such a competitive event is a significant achievement and highlights the growing popularity of mixed martial arts in Nepal.
