Nepal’s Binod Shrestha to Compete in GAMMA World MMA Championship 2024
Nepali fighter Binod Shrestha is set to represent Nepal in the prestigious GAMMA World MMA Championship, scheduled to take place in Jakarta, Indonesia, from December 6 to 14. Shrestha will compete in the men’s 70 kg category, bringing Nepal’s strength and determination to the global stage.
The event, organized by the Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts (GAMMA), will feature elite fighters from around the world. Nepal’s team is led by Team Manager Rajiv Maharjan and Coach Umesh Maharjan, ensuring Shrestha has robust support during the competition.
The participation costs for the Nepali athlete have been generously sponsored by the Lalitpur District Sports Development Committee and Binod Maharjan, President of GAMMA Nepal Association of Mixed Martial Arts. Additional contributions were made by RD Foundation, Ekata Foundation, and Dr. Mohit Gautam.
A farewell ceremony for the team was held on Sunday, where Bagmati Province’s Youth and Sports Minister, Min Krishna Maharjan, Lalitpur District Sport Development President and also GAMMA Nepal President Binod Maharjan, and Nepal National and International Players’ Association President Deepak Shrestha extended their best wishes. The team will depart for Indonesia on Wednesday, carrying the hopes of a nation eager for victory.
